A classic, tall Edwardian white painted town house in the heart of the city, is home to this jolly, young family. The brief was to add colour to three key rooms – Sitting Room, Children’s Room and Master Bedroom. The rooms were completely redecorated and carpeted first and then updated with new furniture, furnishings, upholstery, lighting and glorious rich curtains all embellished with wonderful trimmings. Storage for the Children’s room (which also had to incorporate a piano) allows them to each have their own space for homework and books.

For 2022 it was decided that the main hall and stairs running right through the centre of the house needed a bit of a makeover to freshen up this space. A simple paint and wallpaper palette of soft silvery grey was used on the walls, but the star of the show, is the truly beautiful, bespoke runner and carpet which was hand made locally, to cover the three flights of stairs and landings. It brings a wonderful warm colour, pattern and texture to a space where we could add very little else and feels totally divine under foot. It was a 10 month wait, but totally worth it!
